Christmas

This Christmas was a nice one. What wasn't so nice, I'll let you know, was getting a stomach flu and fever on Christmas Eve. Which led to skipping Christmas at church, Christmas lunch, the Christmas lunch performance I was supposed to help out in and Christmas shopping at Orchard. Believe it or not, I still haven't seen the Christmas lights at Orchard Road.

But what was nice about this Christmas was having a good rest and spending it snuggling all day in bed with mummy taking care of me. Oh, and gleefully uncovering the contents in my Christmas stocking (a fine, fine tradition I started last Christmas). And I finally dug into my Marks & Spenser chocolate coins (I usually finish them right before Christmas but thanks to exams and getting sick my Christmas timeline is wayyyyy off this year) once I got my appetite back. I also managed to make my second annual Christmas Mix and pamper myself with some awesome little gifts. And since the Christmas bug didn't bite me as hard this year, I sourced for several classic Christmas flicks, most of which I'm still slowly savoring. {Peter Billingsley as Ralphie in A Christmas Story is SUPER. He looked like a kid version of Drew Carey. Plus, that entire movie is hilarious.} The week leading up to Christmas was super fun too- probably too much fun for my post-exam body to handle. I had a hot tod's first birthday bash the very night after my exams, lots of trips to the mall that's only a stone's throw away from my house, an entire Sunday dedicated to church and the beach, Christmas card writing, secret santa shopping/wrapping, dinner, lunch and a movie with several friends and a nice ol' visit to my tutor. After which my body decided be a Scrooge and say "Bah, humbug!" to ALL the remaining Christmas activities. Oh well. I still choose to believe that this was a nice Christmas in a different way, considering how much I love mooching around at home.

As we all enjoy God's blessing,
Oh, may we not forget,
Our Lord, from whom all good gifts come--
In Him our needs are met. -Fitzhugh
