busrides and fringe
I guess its
the reason why people read and write blogs- for all sorts of experiences; and I've got another weird one again- after Randon Guy. I dare say today's is weirder.
Mid-dozing through my 153 bus ride, this indian school boy sat beside me on the last row of the bus. Cracking one eye open, I shifted one seat away cuz i had no idea why he was sitting so close to me when there were so many other empty seats.
After dozing for another 10 minutes, i peeked and saw that he was
still staring at me. Like
SOLER, facing me squarely and just staring. Heck, I closed my eyes again.
Fine, I gave up dozing. I turned and looked at the kid.
"..." something inaudible he said, I probably couldnt hear him due to the bus' engine and the semi freaked-outness/curiosity on my part.
And outta the blule, he reached out and just touched my fringe. Ok touch is an understatement. More like clamping my fringe between his fingers and pseudo picking lint out of my hair.
"Uh...is there something wrong with my fringe?" I ask, now not knowing what to do/think/say.
"I really like your fringe. How to make my fringe like yours?" Asks the little boy.
"Oh. just keep it longer and sweep it to the side." I reply, after looking at his short crop.
"Oh..ok. Its very nice." kid reiterates. Uh..ok.
After staring out the window and checking my stuff, (I thought he picked my pockets or bag while I was asleep) I notice he's still staring at me. Freaky please! He's gonna pass his
SOLER for sure if he ever decides to be a counsellor in the future.
Again, and for many times subsequently, the kid is touching my hair. So what else to do but engage him in convosation to keep his mind on something else?
So yak yak yak, I find out he's 11, from Beatty Sec.
Apparently our convo was not long enough for him to quit fiddling with my fringe. Good thing my stop arrived sooner than expected. HAHAHA I must say I didn't find this weird exchange too shudder worthy. It just made me wonder
again, like with Random Guy, if they were paid to do some punk'd/candid camera action.
And so Smarti won the day
